Let’s increase diversity here in the South West

Magistrates Bench Diversity – Recruitment Criminal justice has among the lowest proportion of senior staff from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. Current research reveals that in the Avon and Somerset Magistracy we currently have  a severe under representation of BAME Magistrates and Magistrates from working class backgrounds, in direct relationship to the populations that we are serving. Mayor Congratulates Bristol’s Sporting Champions of Tomorrow

Bristol’s junior athletics stars were cheered on today (Friday 28 July) by the city’s Mayor before they set off to take part in world championship competitions next week. One of the group, para-athlete Simran Kaur, a 14-year-old 100m and 200m sprinter in the T46* category, is the youngest person chosen to join the GB para-athletics team and will be taking part in the World Para Athletics Championships in Switzerland next week.
